Guild charter

As a member of TTF, we expect you to uphold certain behaviors that help make the guild a better environment for everyone. You may have already adopted some or all of these.

All are subject to change with time. Being a decent person will cover most of this.

Respect Each Other

  • Keep things friendly and make sure the jokes are jokes.
  • Respect others' beliefs, opinions and choices.
  • Use preferred pronouns, or just names; understand each other and forgive any honest mistakes.
  • Treat others as you would like to be treated.
  • No doxxing.

Respect the Guild

  • No theft, sabotage, or attempts at mutiny (please).
  • Your online behavior should positively represent the guild.
  • If you take something from the guild bank, try to add something back.
  • Maintain a welcoming environment for everyone.

Work as a Team

  • Participate in guild activities and provide constructive feedback.
  • Be available for the guild as best you can, including running dungeons/raids, PvP, and utilizing professions.

Communicate

  • Deal with your arguments and differences privately. If you can't come to a conclusion, take the matter to leadership.
  • If something causes us collective negative emotion, it will be dealt with promptly.
  • Talk with the Officers directly, about anything. We can't help if we're not aware.

Behave Yourself

  • We don't tolerate any form of discrimination, harassment, abuse, hatred, prejudice, threat, racism, violence, or NSFW material that's outside the #nsfw channel.
  • Set appropriate server nicknames; avoid flooding the chat and/or self-promotion.
  • Swearing is allowed, freedom of speech is allowed, just be cool.

If you cause major issues right away, you'll need to find a new guild.

Vision & Values

We're an intentionally smaller guild: a laid-back group of online friends, looking to make more online friends. We’d like every member to feel valued and integral to the whole. We aim for lasting relationships and to create an inclusive, transparent common area where everyone can share, learn, and grow together.

We’ve been around for a while, and we’d like to continue. This guild is your space; keep it clean and make yourself at home. Remember that you’re always carrying our name, and to stand up on your own.

I. Activity Requirements

  • All of your characters have a shared inactivity period of 30 days without notice, after which they'll be removed from the guild.
  • If you're planning to take a long break from the game, tell an Officer and all of your characters will be exempt from removal.
  • We use the Guild Roster Manager add-on to kick your characters, not you. This process isn't perfect; if your characters are removed for inactivity, or during a purge, they're always welcome back. Reach out to an Officer/Captain or apply through guild finder.
  • Private discussion and extra conditions may be required to rejoin after leaving/removal, depending on your history.

We don't typically kick inactive characters during natural breaks between seasons/patches. Just make sure to log in within the first few weeks of launch, or your characters may need a re-invite.

IIa. Merg's Raid Rules

Conduct

  • Be nice, be respectful, and have fun. This isn't a job. Just enjoy the raid.
  • Be prepared and on time. Make sure you've got your gear, some consumables, and a basic idea of the fights. If you're going to be late or absent, let the Raid Leader know ahead of time.
  • Voice chat is recommended if you're unfamiliar with a fight; we'll need you to listen for callouts.
  • If you're unsure of a mechanic, ask about it, but keep talking to a minimum during a pull.

Please join voice chat if specifically requested.

Loot Rules

  • All boss loot is group loot
After a fair roll, you'll keep the item(s). If you would like to give up the item(s), give it to the next highest roll.
  • Don't roll on loot for a friend
This gives them an unfair advantage.
  • BoE (Bind on Equip) gear is personal loot
If you choose to roll it off, follow the Loot Roll Prioritization.
  • We use a trust system for raid loot.
If something doesn't seem right, it's on you to say something. If you don't speak up, we'll keep on.

If there's a problem with who got what, talk to the person who got the loot first. If talking directly doesn't work, then you can bring the issue to an Officer. They'll make sure everything is kept fair.

Roll Priority

  • If a raider tries to knowingly snipe loot, and the issue escalates to an Officer, we will use the following hierarchy to settle the argument.
Main Roster, Main Spec > Off Roster, Main Spec > Main Roster, Off Spec > Off Roster, Off Spec > Transmog/Vendor

Main Roster: Official raid team or regular helpers.
Off Roster: Occasional raiders who are there to help the Main Roster. You may still get a chance at loot, but we need to take care of the regulars first.
Main Spec: The role you regularly fill in raid. If you're a DPS that went Heals for a certain fight, you'd be eligible for both DPS and Healer loot.
Off Spec: Any other specialization for your class that isn't your Main Spec.

Additional Notes

  • Loot distribution has been a sore point for many guilds. Following the above is the fairest way of distribution. We simply ask that these rules be respected. For more information on WoW's Group Loot system, head to the official blue post.
  • Under certain circumstances, and with Officer approval, you may be allowed to set a loot spec that's different from the role you're raiding with. Please talk to your Raid Leader or an Officer to discuss terms.

Raid Rule Violations

First Violation -> Initial Warning

A private reminder of the rule and what needs to change.

Second Violation -> Final Warning

A final warning that further issues will result in being sat.

Third Violation -> Temporary Sit

You may be sat for part of a raid night or boss fight.

Fourth Violation -> Full Sit

You will sit for one full raid night.

Continued Violations -> Roster Review

Repeated issues may result in being moved to bench or removed from the team.

Serious violations may skip steps depending on the situation. Minor violations expire after 30 days of improved behavior.

IIb. Gore's Raid Addendums

These addendums are here to keep us on-track as a team, not to deter you from raiding. These are subject to change with time and feedback. Merg's rules apply unless overwritten; any discrepancy does not imply inapplicability.

You Should Expect

  • A plan for the next raid posted here.
  • Group formation 15 minutes in advance.
  • Transparency, honesty, and communication.
  • Feasts, vantus runes, and some pre-made enchantments and health potions.
  • Briefings and clarifications before boss fights, including Heroic/Mythic differences.
  • Roster adjustments for certain encounters as needed.

What I Expect From You

  • Talk to each other, not to me about each other. We communicate. If you’ve made an effort to no avail, talk to an Officer.
  • Keep your ilvl and output on-par with the group. We should all make reasonable effort to keep up with each other.
  • Some form of boss alerts. You can use Bigwigs, DBM, or the in-game boss alerts.
  • Bring weapon oils/stones, flasks, battle potions, and fully enchanted gear.

Only enchant your gear if it’s Hero track or above. Lower tier enchants are permitted during our AOTC push, but higher tier enchants are required for Mythic level raiding.

If you truly cannot afford an enchantment, please let an Officer know.

Raid Attendance

  • If you're late, we'll raid without you until you get there. If you're late without notice and another player fills your spot, they may keep your spot for the duration of that raid. Please join voice chat quietly, we've most likely started. You're responsible for missed bosses, feasts or cauldrons.
  • If you're regularly late without notice ("forgot what time we start", "was getting cigarettes"), you'll face disciplinary action. If you've given us notice or your absences are reasonable (e.g. family fish died), you're fine.

The Team

  • Only those on the Sunday/Tuesday roster will be allowed to raid. Raiders may be added mid-season and we will use the guild and pugs to fill gaps in case of absence. We hold the right to recruit externally for this team, though we will make every effort not to.
  • If you're unable to keep up with the group, you'll have to sit out until we come up with a solution. This will only really happen if we hit a hard wall on a certain boss.
  • You're allowed to swap classes/specs within your assigned role (healer, tank, dps) during our normal progression, but you'll be locked into a class/spec as soon as we start heroic. If you're trying different classes to see how they feel/perform, don't roll on items that others could benefit from.
  • Gore's raid group will have average iLvl expectations to be set/changed regularly during progression.

Loot Priority

  • We will favor those who need tier pieces.
  • Normal: Need if you need, greed if you don’t. Everyone needs gear at this point.
  • Heroic/Mythic: If you already have an item that is of similar ilvl to a piece of loot, but is on a lower track (i.e. your 467 Champion 5/8 piece vs. 467 Hero 1/6 loot), we will prioritize those who do not have that piece altogether. This excludes items with cantrips, like trinkets, rings and non-tier sets.

If we return to a previous difficulty and your main is overgeared, you can bring an alt, but give our main roster loot priority. This alt cannot be used in another guild raid group for that lockout.

Mythic Raiding Footnotes

  • Mythic raids are limited to 20 players, so roster triage is unavoidable.
  • A healthy Mythic roster needs more than 20 active players. Typical composition is 2/4/14, with 3-5 on the bench.
  • When we have a bench, being on the main team does not guarantee a spot every night. Sitting for a night does not mean you're off the team.
  • A roster spot in a previous season does not guarantee a spot in future seasons. Rosters are reevaluated each season based on the needs of the team.
  • Attendance, communication, performance (output, deaths, consumable usage, etc.), and raid composition all factor into roster decisions.
